Happy Mardi Gras, Y'all! I know in other areas of the world, today is just Tuesday; but here in New Orleans, it's Fat Tuesday! The rainy, cold weather along with my rheumatoid arthritis kept me in this year, but I'm enjoying watching the parades on tv and eating King Cake!<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I just wanted to share some Carnival time fun with a card I made yesterday. I hope you enjoy!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjESX5RhYmQcN-ywtbPqIUdEbwOrz3ac2LiYdjVd4eFrV2d1kdCvWPHPWjeGDzg8TWEjqmpNR4tsp_iVIPnoPg07l_hWAYFkb-KNGt3JU8zib2fY_drdX0mPVsoOOEJtLY-ipgtEmIv7A0/s1600/IMG_3731.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjESX5RhYmQcN-ywtbPqIUdEbwOrz3ac2LiYdjVd4eFrV2d1kdCvWPHPWjeGDzg8TWEjqmpNR4tsp_iVIPnoPg07l_hWAYFkb-KNGt3JU8zib2fY_drdX0mPVsoOOEJtLY-ipgtEmIv7A0/s1600/IMG_3731.JPG" height="295" width="320" /></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
The dies I used for this card were the Spellbinders Fleur de Lis and Venetian Accents. And yes, the only reason I bought the Venetian Accents set was because of that cool "Mardi Gras" mask. It's been in my stash for a while and I've been patiently waiting to use it! The purple harlequin paper is from Stamping Station and it's called Mardi Gras Purple.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I thought I'd enter this blingy, glitzy bit of Mardi Gras into a few challenges so I could share some of the fun! And "Anything Goes" best describes the feeling and gaiety of this wonderful season!</div>

<span style="color: #e06666; font-size: large;">Welcome to the Studio!</span></div>
<br />
So glad you stopped by. The <a href="http://www.linkupforpink.com/">Link Up For Pink Linky Party</a> is still going on, so be sure to hop over there and see all the wonderful cards and projects and leave some love. But, if you want a chance to win some fabby prizes, you have to link your pink card up. It's easy and fun!<br />
<br />
My card for today is still in the vintage, shabby chic vein. I'm just so totally loving that style right now! And since it's for LUFP, it's got to have a lot of pink.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEggmhqg0RDm60viUz92mkTcREofS90OpVQ7YeYH4J9Osvp9hyphenhyphenyZM1G3hzbTbhBabVDL7JnJbxAaAOOp9rGuo0YJHyp6liHBiyvyj7Vc8c-R3we27MDBulkDcuJEMTSM_M-VAhppzCyPt6M/s1600/IMG_3499.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEggmhqg0RDm60viUz92mkTcREofS90OpVQ7YeYH4J9Osvp9hyphenhyphenyZM1G3hzbTbhBabVDL7JnJbxAaAOOp9rGuo0YJHyp6liHBiyvyj7Vc8c-R3we27MDBulkDcuJEMTSM_M-VAhppzCyPt6M/s400/IMG_3499.JPG" width="308" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I wanted a different style of embellishment, so I decided to make my own. For the feathers, I used a small circle punch and put Aleene's Tacky Glue on it and stuck my feathers to the top half of the circle. The beige feathers were actually cut from a larger feather. It was too big to fit on my card;) After I had them all stuck down, I added a bit more tacky glue and then folded the circle in half and kind of sandwiched all the feathers so they wouldn't slip out. I then added a glue dot to the paper half circle and tucked it behind by two-colored quadruple bow along with some pretty little stickpins. The pearl and rhinestone one I made myself from my bead/pin stash. The awareness ribbon pin is from my friend Yolie, our fearless leader at Link Up For Pink. I wanted it to have a bit more wow factor, so I used Liquid Pearls on it. I'm totally tickled pink with the way my card turned out;)</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The inside of my card is very simple, but has a strong sentiment. For those of you who are fighting this battle, all our prayers, love, and hugs are with you. Be Strong! You're not alone!</div>

<span style="color: #e06666; font-size: large;">Welcome to the Studio!</span></div>
<br />
If you're visiting from <a href="http://www.linkupforpink.com/">Link Up For Pink</a>, thanks so much for stopping by!<br />
<br />
I've been in a bit of a shabby chic mood lately...when I have mojo, of course, and can actually create something worth sharing;) I've been having some of "those days" lately where everything hurts or my brain isn't working or the only thing I feel like doing is sleep. Luckily, I'm coming out of my personal funk and I'm getting my "shab" on. This is the card I created for <a href="http://www.linkupforpink.com/">Link Up For Pink</a>. If you haven't heard of them, it's a wonderful group of ladies (of which I'm one) and we use our crafting for Breast Cancer Awareness. We also accept donations for Relay For Life (there's a button on the sidebar.)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I'm still head over heels for the Heidi Swapp Sugar Chic paper pack. I just can't quit using it. And I adore the flower trim from Stampin Up. The "Hope" stamp and frame are from Pink By Design. And the cute, tiny vellum envelope is from DCWV. I also used Stampin Up inks in Strawberry Slush and Brown Sugar and Close To My Heart ink in Cotton Candy. The little burlap flower and the newsprint pattern paper is Paper Studio and the pink flower is Prima. The bling is from my stash. The embossing folder used on the pink strip at the top is from Cuttlebug.</div>

<span style="font-size: small;"></span> </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: small;">I'm still in my vintage groove and I wanted to share my latest creation based on <a href="http://www.mojomonday.blogspot.com/2013/09/mojo-monday-309-contest.html">Mojo Monday Sketch #309.</a> I decided to play around with some crepe paper I had in a pretty plum color. I liked the way it looked with Soft Suede and the pinks. And for some reason, I just adore that chicken wire print paper. Not sure what it is, but burlap and chicken wire are becoming my new fave patterns/textures.</span></div>

<span style="font-size: large;">Welcome to the Studio!</span></div>
<br />
I have a confession to make about the paper I used on this card...<br />
I LOVED the paper the minute I laid eyes on it. My enabler/friend, Joy, over at <a href="http://joy-purttypaperz.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">Purtty Paperz,</a> had gotten it when it first came out and I was seeing all the BEAUTIFUL stuff she was making with it. I couldn't help but run out and buy it. So after I got it home, I put it in my paper tub...and there it sat. I'd look at it lovingly every time I got ready to start a new project...and there it sat. It's only paper for crying out loud, but it intimidated the heck out of me. I've never understood how paper or embellishments or techniques can scare the beejeezus out of a grown woman. <br />
<br />
Admittedly, I don't have kids (not human ones, anyway) but I've worked in a restaurant, two shoe stores (phew, stinky feet), and sat through hours and hours of graphic testimony about impaled abdomens and ripped off extremities, with photos no less; and I turn into a lip-quivering wimp at the thought of using pretty paper. HUH?!? This insanity must stop!<br />
<br />
I used the pretty paper! Yay, Me! I used the pretty paper! (Doing my happy dance!) It's silly, I know; but we all have our hang-ups and "saving" pretty stuff for later is mine. I don't anymore, but I used to only wear a favorite perfume on special occasions. I finally realized that every day that I woke up was a special occasion:)<br />
<br />
Thank you sharing in "Therapy Time" with me. Without further adieu, here is my card...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg30qh9i_7Ugo5VmpnREqK5Vh2dp_zmz5WshUAdNUnRI8-s6vNOE5AYoaJf40gEgs8Y6JkQAq7-S5emhwk0A0r89oMyUGr1rSDmrl5SVTGecCbc9Gww2fps0fLj7CRtNjLs7OH4XGEq9xo/s1600/IMG_3474.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg30qh9i_7Ugo5VmpnREqK5Vh2dp_zmz5WshUAdNUnRI8-s6vNOE5AYoaJf40gEgs8Y6JkQAq7-S5emhwk0A0r89oMyUGr1rSDmrl5SVTGecCbc9Gww2fps0fLj7CRtNjLs7OH4XGEq9xo/s400/IMG_3474.JPG" width="307" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<br />
I'm so totally pleased with the way it came out. It looks even better in person. I'm still honing my photography skills and they're getting better all the time. I didn't do anything really special on this card except that all the flowers, except the large rose, started out white. I sprayed, inked, & spritzed until they came out the right colors. It hardly ever shows in the photo, but they all have a bit of glimmer to them. I also fussy cut the doily shape from pattern paper. I NEVER fussy cut. It makes my hands/wrists hurt, but I had to make an exception because there was no other doily in the world that was going to be the right size, shape, or color;) <br />
<br />
I'll be entering this card in the following challenges:<br />

<span style="font-size: large;">Welcome to the Studio!</span></div>
<br />
So glad you chose to spend a few minutes of your day with me. I posted a similar card the other day, but this one is my favorite of the two. I just adore the dress form die from Stampin Up. I "dressed" her up with a string of pearls and a linen thread belt. It was a fun card. I've been in a totally vintage, shabby chic mood lately and my mojo has been obliging.<br />

<span style="font-size: large;">Welcome to the Studio!</span></div>

<div style="text-align: left;">
I'm on a mission to let everyone know about the spectacular, awesome, fantabulous LINK UP FOR PINK October Event! It starts October 1st and goes through the 14th. There will be lots of cards and projects and lots of pink too! And did I mention prizes!?! Please help us support Breast Cancer Awareness, be there for those who are fighting the battle, celebrate those who are cancer-free, and honor those we've lost.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<center>
<a href="http://www.linkupforpink.com/" target="_blank"><br /><img alt="LinkUpforPink.com" border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-QGe5iIPmIXc/UOIYMRl3tJI/AAAAAAAABVY/hi2K2QZtFlo/s249/2013%2520lufp%2520badge%2520b.png" style="height: 168px; width: 231px;" /></a></center>
I decided to play with a technique I hadn't done in a while, embossing resist. All the embossing stuff and the alcohol inks are so convenient in the new scraproom, I'm re-trying lots of old techniques that I kind of forgot about. For my first card, I decided to make it feminine with some pretty pink pearly pins...say that three times fast:)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjfy65Dd5LSkVS6fTu0nPSicAZ213Qu0UCYcKeOKJUyn6-qawQSk03snY3Ogo3qc1b4zVIRZMYtEqC-vxwQ7swW9S9V7SoIeSC98VtB9sWrGAJrfxzNkUfk4XBgngv_1Qi-TCAqax97Viw/s1600/IMG_3467.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjfy65Dd5LSkVS6fTu0nPSicAZ213Qu0UCYcKeOKJUyn6-qawQSk03snY3Ogo3qc1b4zVIRZMYtEqC-vxwQ7swW9S9V7SoIeSC98VtB9sWrGAJrfxzNkUfk4XBgngv_1Qi-TCAqax97Viw/s400/IMG_3467.JPG" width="317" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
And here I am again with more leftovers. Wish the stuff in my fridge looked this appetizing;) For this card, I decided on some sweet, little roses in two different pinks and a ribbon with both organza and satin in it.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh3z_h05l3EttXvTt1qrPbAVLpqx7nriEt6xE1vyJbrhx1X3W1OywBGHyPiC-k_tQtvellpDVhPSrlPWVbYvEXC_GOjllRO40iaj3qmPZ0hESKcn7m13UG5mE97_DOGhal887BIr7BYFG8/s1600/IMG_3464.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh3z_h05l3EttXvTt1qrPbAVLpqx7nriEt6xE1vyJbrhx1X3W1OywBGHyPiC-k_tQtvellpDVhPSrlPWVbYvEXC_GOjllRO40iaj3qmPZ0hESKcn7m13UG5mE97_DOGhal887BIr7BYFG8/s400/IMG_3464.JPG" width="315" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
For the embossing resist technique, all I did was heat emboss the ribbon flourish design on white cardstock with clear embossing powder. After it had cooled, I used a stamp from the Strength & Hope stamp set to make the wording background. The next step is to take a sponge, a dauber, a stipple brush - whatever you choose - and add ink on top of the embossed image and like magic, it appears. I just think this technique is just too cool and I hope you do too!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<span style="font-size: large;">Welcome to the Studio!</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"></span> </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I made a beautiful baby boy card recently (which I'll be able to share soon), and I still had all this lovely (and old) Anna Griffin toile paper on my scrap desk. I decided to make a similar card and use up some of these gorgeous scraps as well as some embies that I didn't use on the baby card. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I don't know if any of you do this when you create, but I pick my papers and then go around my scraproom like a crazy lady digging through jars of flowers, rooting through drawers and baskets, and generally making a huge pile on my desk of all the items I "collected" and then I start on my project...with like no room at all to work;) And putting all the stuff I use away is a booger, so a lot of times, I end up making a few "matching" cards. I like doing that after I finish a layout especially, because I usually only have enough scraps left for a few cards anyway and it makes cleaning up easier. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Okay, enough about me. Here's the card I created with my "leftovers."</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjEmv7e9OvSUXF3OsfOqxPBIp4N228DEDR9JBbLOCq999fYgSp0XrcfvxGKs92QsqzqzY-g9SnX6pbFZQBDOPjCL8btnFUwppSryaTWDKykOTqTwiE8r5y6Nym_pZH2jlMK_cM6GNa6z3g/s1600/Happy+Birthday+Toile_01.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="310" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjEmv7e9OvSUXF3OsfOqxPBIp4N228DEDR9JBbLOCq999fYgSp0XrcfvxGKs92QsqzqzY-g9SnX6pbFZQBDOPjCL8btnFUwppSryaTWDKykOTqTwiE8r5y6Nym_pZH2jlMK_cM6GNa6z3g/s320/Happy+Birthday+Toile_01.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I was going for a very shabby chic look, so I distressed ALL the edges with ink and even used my handy-dandy Prima distressing tool. I have tried several distressing tools in the past, but this one by far is my fave. And yep, it looks just like my Grandma Julie's foot file that used to sit on the shelf in her bathroom. Same color too;)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhoxwH3uN76mbxSjIdPIxciGCWoG94lx-tl7Jstvper9W-UCAvqq5y_uxfA4898Jf9X9JnpW5Qgb1SwD_49RkDzIs7DABKjNtO_ifjn7RQSNF2Ma_hyphenhyphendeT9gjBW9nrzNCygtz01JpyJ30o/s1600/Prima+Distressing+Tool.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="179" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhoxwH3uN76mbxSjIdPIxciGCWoG94lx-tl7Jstvper9W-UCAvqq5y_uxfA4898Jf9X9JnpW5Qgb1SwD_49RkDzIs7DABKjNtO_ifjn7RQSNF2Ma_hyphenhyphendeT9gjBW9nrzNCygtz01JpyJ30o/s320/Prima+Distressing+Tool.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I used it at a Prima class that I took while at CKC-Nashville a few years ago and loved it! I ordered one as soon as I got back home!</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Do you ever buy stuff just because all your friends are buying it and think it's great? I'm so guilty of that! I used a few of those things on this card that I just HAD TO HAVE. One is chipboard. I must have two white cubes from Michaels filled to overflowing with chipboard of every imaginable size, shape, color, texture. The one I used here was from a package I received in a goodie bag at a weekend retreat in February. Another one of those "Had to Have" items was Tim Holtz Distressing Stains. I used them both on the chipboard piece and as well as the newsprint pattern paper to "shab them up a bit." I also used the sanding tool and the metal brush on the chipboard to uncover portions of the pattern embossed on it. I love the burlap flowers! Those are new to my stash and this is the first time I've used them.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">

<span style="font-size: large;">Welcome to the Studio!</span></div>
<br />
Since the move, things are FINALLY settling down and life is resuming a normal pace. There's still a lot to unpack, but it's too early to put out the Christmas decorations, so I figure I have a breather until after Halloween at least;) My mojo was in full swing yesterday and I made it a point to craft the day away. I made a pendant for a Halloween necklace and while that was drying I made two cards. I wanted to share one of my creations with you today. It's "sew" shabby chic!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh3TQnWhRDJL8mjpsiwPWCQ90g4jRgFn-EFpCMvk0s42PyasOSI-bJu5W_stdQfrSCLFFZuVf3qn9oZ2mBzoSvQyTHhZpEXJpO3BvtcKsrx7zxqsf0RbgwXBwlUeO1A7plKQiTkUr92pu0/s1600/Sewing+Spools_01.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh3TQnWhRDJL8mjpsiwPWCQ90g4jRgFn-EFpCMvk0s42PyasOSI-bJu5W_stdQfrSCLFFZuVf3qn9oZ2mBzoSvQyTHhZpEXJpO3BvtcKsrx7zxqsf0RbgwXBwlUeO1A7plKQiTkUr92pu0/s400/Sewing+Spools_01.jpg" width="317" /></a></div>

</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I downloaded the sewing machine freebie from a blog I follow, <a href="http://estherscardcreations.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">Shoregirl's Creations</a>. She's always got such cool ideas and projects, not to mention recipes too. The card was pretty simple to make, just some inking around the edges and that's about it. The trickiest part was getting the thread onto the mini spools...mini glue dots did the trick!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I'm entering this card in a few challenges too! And those are:</div>

<br />
It's been ages since I've been able to create and I'm excited to say that I've finally had the opportunity...and just in time for<a href="http://www.linkupforpink.com/" target="_blank"> Link Up For Pink Challenge 16</a>! The scraproom kind of became a makeshift holding tank for two trailer loads of stuff in the last few weeks of "THE MOVE," which I'm happy to say in finally OVER! After adding some shelving and lots of organizing, the scraproom is finally usable. Mom still can't find everything. I'll be starting on the drawer and basket labeling next;)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.linkupforpink.com/" target="_blank"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhGjoyxO8q_2diJ4goPc9kKGy66ZhK5LHwfJl2-ycELLLxrxIHOgTmr-zKxP2oF24eL47SIgCwFlHa1GF_blSDzEJZfLIzGlcQsirJhM2WwCpvvsZVi_BFOmR0HOxS9Qc_QQPYG3ceScUw/s1600/LUFP+Challenge+16.png" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Our sponsor for this challenge is<a href="http://www.etsy.com/shop/SherriBaldy" target="_blank"> Sherri Baldy</a>. I just love, love, love her awesome images. Here is my card using Image 707 from her <a href="http://www.etsy.com/shop/SherriBaldy" target="_blank">shop</a>.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg3HJ2a9A1YJeINNBRqzbaM2I2Zcx8r-FLXMpzzvMMXX2GUaDLZKpgu7BOasHPmuIbU72DxwRKLMl3bSMySXtssgU0QFQLIwYRE8_pIcKxA4N7Rf4wVDeSLP2SBfodSNZYe4QtAW0QNtnM/s1600/Denim+Girl+Hope.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg3HJ2a9A1YJeINNBRqzbaM2I2Zcx8r-FLXMpzzvMMXX2GUaDLZKpgu7BOasHPmuIbU72DxwRKLMl3bSMySXtssgU0QFQLIwYRE8_pIcKxA4N7Rf4wVDeSLP2SBfodSNZYe4QtAW0QNtnM/s320/Denim+Girl+Hope.jpg" width="264" /></a></div>
<br />
I decided to paper piece this little cutie. I wanted the denim look and I'm so not that talented with Copics. I did the rest of her with watercolor pencils and a blending pen. I followed an old sketch I found buried on my iPad from My Mind's Eye and it just so happens the pattern paper is MME as well. The cardstock and the bracket label is Stampin Up. "Denim Hope" is printed on watercolor paper. The denim paper and the burlap border is from The Paper Studio/Hobby Lobby. {I finally went shopping at "The Lob" for the first time in months. They have a ton of cool, new items...like burlap borders and flowers!} The button and floss is from my stash. The "Hope" stamp is from Justrite Stamps. The frilly ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon. The awareness ribbon punch is from EK Success. The pink rose is Recollections/Michaels hit with a little of my own Sassy Shimmer Spritz in La Vie En Rose. The itty, bitty rhinestones are from CTMH.<br />
<br />
Now for the fun stuff...<br />
Be sure to enter Challenge 16. The rules are simple...make it pink! There will be two winners and each will receive five digis...Woo Hoo! If I won, I don't know how I'd possibly be able to pick out only five favorites. The winners will have their work cut out for them. I look forward to seeing all your beautiful creations!<br />

<br />
Whew, it's been a rough few months. I haven't had hardly any time to craft. I've been packing and purging not only my scrap stash but everything else in the house too. You can't imagine just how many Christmas ornaments you can acquire in four short years:)<br />
<br />
So to update everyone, I am partially moved (and my mom too) to the sprawling metropolis of Picayune, Mississippi. It's country living at its finest. The guy who lives across to street brings fresh chicken eggs once a week. I've never had eggs that fresh! From coop to kitchen in under an hour. We have a brand, spankin' new scraproom built by my Dear Old Dad. It's awesome! Just a huge 10x20 open space with lots of outlets for all my scrappy gadgets, some uber lighting, and lots of windows. There's even a tin roof so I can hear the rain pitter-patter.<br />
<br />
The cube wall with all our paper is put together (mostly), the dies and diecutting machines are ready and raring to go. I even found my paper trimmer - Yay, Me! So I FINALLY got a few moments to crank out some cards after months of not really being able to. By no means is everything unpacked, but at least I can find some of my stuff;) The picture below is the cube wall...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjARnfpplIjdxvApcOzPljI7dt1_A8dpR1T5i5SGNDXE4TKDX2dM8peLmL1Sfx7CQySd3a-LB2bcqy048T1K1D55RbANuiW5e170JrQHMSv3zJSW8tTxPjngjVIrDDYFWzvEO-4rRvYAk4/s1600/photo.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjARnfpplIjdxvApcOzPljI7dt1_A8dpR1T5i5SGNDXE4TKDX2dM8peLmL1Sfx7CQySd3a-LB2bcqy048T1K1D55RbANuiW5e170JrQHMSv3zJSW8tTxPjngjVIrDDYFWzvEO-4rRvYAk4/s320/photo.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
I thought a good way to get the creative juices flowing again was to start with a few challenges. Here is my newest creation...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhvlpfUcTI5VaPJx2chiUXnP3ip82FDPlZJ0f55MpwtxEbC3DwoP6bf6l0oxRD3wip0cWkMYa2EKrTbZZ8Xwg7yfvhfNSk-a8A8fzLWgckITynZFAnDPA4KB0Mi3a46wY7T_JZSsn-5nIE/s1600/Happy+Birthday+Buttons.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="296" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhvlpfUcTI5VaPJx2chiUXnP3ip82FDPlZJ0f55MpwtxEbC3DwoP6bf6l0oxRD3wip0cWkMYa2EKrTbZZ8Xwg7yfvhfNSk-a8A8fzLWgckITynZFAnDPA4KB0Mi3a46wY7T_JZSsn-5nIE/s400/Happy+Birthday+Buttons.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<span id="goog_1455159081"></span><span id="goog_1455159082">It's based upon <a href="http://kgiron.blogspot.com/2013/07/sweet-sunday-sketch-challenge-188.html" target="_blank">Sweet Sunday Sketch #188</a>. The sketch is pictured below. I also got a bit of inspiration from a challenge blog I just discovered, <a href="http://avenue613.blogspot.com/2013/07/anything-goes-challenge-27-optional.html" target="_blank">613 Avenue Create</a>. Their current challenge, #27, is a "create your own" challenge. I created my own with a Choose 3 option of pattern paper, solid paper, and a sentiment. It was a lot of fun and really made me put my creative thinking cap on. I also used a bunch of buttons so I could join in the fun at <a href="http://cateredcrop.com/2013/07/07/button-up-recipe-swap/" target="_blank">Catered Crop</a> with their Button Up challenge.</span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
For this card, I used:<br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;">Ivory 5x6.5 card base, from chain craft store</span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;">Pattern Paper: denim (Paper Studio/Hobby Lobby); Flowers and pink (Crate Paper/Random collection)</span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;">Chipboard: Butterfly (Michaels)</span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;">Stamps: Happy Birthday (Heidi Swapp); Flourish (Justrite Stamps)</span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;">Buttons: yellow are from CTMH, pink from stash</span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;">Linen thread: Stampin Up</span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;">Jute Cord: from stash</span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;">Inks: Gumball Green, Primrose Petals, Rose Red and Crumb Cake (Stampin Up); Colonial White (CTMH/retired)</span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;">Dies: Spellbinders scalloped border</span><br />

Here are a few more pictures of my new scraproom. I'm just so excited to have a pretty place to craft!<br />

Welcome to the Studio!<br />
<br />
So glad you could stop by today. My crafting has been intermittent at best due to "the move" and the entire scraproom is in boxes now and ready to go, but I was sure to put aside a few of my favorite items to make this pretty-in-pink card for Challenge 14.<br />
<br />

I chose the sentiment, "You Inspire Me," because this lovely digi from Sherri Baldy is the epitome of old-time, classy Hollywood...like back in the days of Bogey & Bacall. This is a lady who takes whatever life puts in her path and handles it with courage and grace. And I know there are a lot of ladies just like that today, and each and every one of you inspire those around you!</div>

<br />
Whew, it's been a long time since I posted. I apologize for that, but things have been absolutely crazy here. I've been packing like a madwoman trying to get everything ready for a move to our new home in Picayune, MS. It's a small, quaint little town and we'll be living out in the country...ah, peace and quiet...and a really awesome scraproom too!<br />
<br />
Enough about all that. Time to get to the good stuff. Link Up For Pink Challenge 13 is open. It's a really simple challenge. You must use the inspiration photo. The colors are so vibrant. That's what jumped out at me.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjTdXK5nwFnMUr3EDePdBQS_-R7E0fF8U9a_Hcup3BPsA4p1vlbs1MxZGrIzTz9WWuGbLQ83lFuqdy6XKvMQmEuxrahYILaKTkmSFYnGcBKV8Nqfi5vdBXSYxkJ98s6OoXQOvL7BQo9YRg/s1600/LUFP+13.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjTdXK5nwFnMUr3EDePdBQS_-R7E0fF8U9a_Hcup3BPsA4p1vlbs1MxZGrIzTz9WWuGbLQ83lFuqdy6XKvMQmEuxrahYILaKTkmSFYnGcBKV8Nqfi5vdBXSYxkJ98s6OoXQOvL7BQo9YRg/s1600/LUFP+13.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
The blue makes me think of the ocean and purple is my all-time fave color, behind lime green, that is.<br />
Here is my card for the challenge...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

That very cute bra digi is from one of our sponsors, <a href="http://www.shopskdigis.com/" target="_blank">SK Digis</a>. They have some of the most adorable images. I really had fun working with this one. I borrowed a few Copic markers from my mom to color the image. I haven't gotten the hang of shading and stuff yet. </div>

</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<br />
I started working on Easter cards a few weeks ago. I wanted to do something a little different. I found some really cool chipboard accents at Michael's recently in their $1 bin during the half off sale. How can you pass up that bargain? I didn't. I bought $4 worth:)<br />
<br />
I played around with the chippy butterfly and decided to use paint on it and then some Rock Candy. It didn't turn out quite like I thought it would. The chipboard was embossed and the paint was too thick and covered a lot of the detail. No worries...just add Stickles. It wasn't quite what I had envisioned initially, but it's still pretty cool.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg7L78emKWU26va6Du3LFY2fLVTlLT21L0FEiYtp7C1pxPMVEYWpy_lVgc2VNWHoUrbyyMeAbgBEEtA2uM6qoaNyFags8ab9zODKKzE2iLPWI1xzfUhi1Szzi46pBq5Y24Y7TiT7Dr5JlM/s1600/Easter+Blessings.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg7L78emKWU26va6Du3LFY2fLVTlLT21L0FEiYtp7C1pxPMVEYWpy_lVgc2VNWHoUrbyyMeAbgBEEtA2uM6qoaNyFags8ab9zODKKzE2iLPWI1xzfUhi1Szzi46pBq5Y24Y7TiT7Dr5JlM/s320/Easter+Blessings.JPG" width="315" /></a></div>
<br />
I used some BoBunny paper, Gabrielle collection. Many of the papers have butterflies all over them and I think that's where I ended up getting the inspiration. The pearls are from CTMH. The paper is from Stampin Up. The "Easter Blessings" is from Justrite. The bow was made using peach seam binding from <a href="http://www.reasonableribbon.com/" target="_blank">Really Reasonable Ribbon</a>. I used Stampin Up inks in Marina Mist, Calypso Coral, and Early Espresso.<br />
<br />
I am entering this card in two challenges. The first is Challenge #109 over at <a href="http://sketchandstashchallenge.blogspot.com/2013/03/challenge-109.html" target="_blank">Sketch N Stash</a>. You have to use their sketch, which I really liked.<br />

Next, I'll be entering Challenge #231 over at <a href="http://flutterbywednesdays.blogspot.com/2013/03/flutter-by-wedesday-231.html" target="_blank">Flutter By Wednesday</a>. The current theme is "anything winged." And of course, butterflies are always welcome;)<br />
<br />
Thanks so much for stopping by. Until next time, Scrap Sassy!<br />

<br />
I was at a scrapbook retreat (Camp Sumatanga in Gallant, AL) back in February and I was a cropping fool getting layout after layout done. I had seen I technique on making roses with the Tim Holtz Tattered Pinecone and Tattered Florals dies. I decided to play around and see if I could make a pretty paper rose. The great news is I succeeded! I made several roses. Most of them went home with my friend, Jackie; but two of them found their way onto one of my layouts about my sweet puppy girl, Bailey, and her sidekick, Erin. Bailey is a Silky Terrier, ie an oversized Yorkie. Since I used just plain, old cardstock to create the roses and some Basic Grey paper that's been languishing in my paper tub for a few years I thought that would qualify for the challenge over at <a href="http://useyourstuff.blogspot.com/2013/03/75-our-four-legged-friends.html" target="_blank">Use Your Stuff #75</a>, Our Four-legged Friends. Also, since my layout has two roses, I thought I'd enter the <a href="http://anythingchallenge.blogspot.com/2013/03/challenge-88-seeing-double.html" target="_blank">Anything Goes Challenge Blog's</a> current challenge, Seeing Double.<br />

<br />
For this layout, I used Basic Grey paper (possibly named Bittersweet) from my stash along with some Stampin Up and CTMH cardstocks. The rhinestone flourishes are Recollections/Michaels. The skull is grungeboard by Tim Holtz and is inked with Stampin Up ink in Pretty in Pink and sprayed with "Sassy Shimmer Spritz," which is my homemade version of Glimmer Mist. The grosgrain ribbon is from my stash. The font used for the title is Chanel. I have tons of free fonts and I get most of them at <a href="http://www.dafont.com/" target="_blank">Dafont</a>.<br />
<br />
Now, the rest of the story...<br />
<br />
As you can see from the photo of my layout above, there were two little pink roses. When I got home from the retreat, the first thing I did was unload my layouts and put them on my coffee table in page protectors ready to go into albums. I was procrastinating a bit because I was trying to decide which layouts I wanted to display for a while. The layouts have been sitting on my coffee table for weeks now. I know you're thinking I need to clean up, but my scrap table is in my living room, so it's not that big a stretch;) So I left to run a few errands the other day and this is what I found when I got home...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg85In0r9KqVjfzwHvlZutp2hHu8ORq07fI3PLw811JdKCpBZrL28nn6gurzSBfuperus9VgYRpbFptM6sY65pGV0uWZhIX6Tfd_jMDjGpcbJmC4aiXfiYgimCuD9Dh8c-kLQsgogotg00/s1600/Bowheads+LO+no+rose.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg85In0r9KqVjfzwHvlZutp2hHu8ORq07fI3PLw811JdKCpBZrL28nn6gurzSBfuperus9VgYRpbFptM6sY65pGV0uWZhIX6Tfd_jMDjGpcbJmC4aiXfiYgimCuD9Dh8c-kLQsgogotg00/s320/Bowheads+LO+no+rose.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I searched and searched for my pretty little rose and couldn't find it anywhere. I knew Bailey was the culprit. I checked all the usual hiding places...in the bed "buried" in the covers, in the closet tucked under my shoe rack or hanging clothes, I even searched the flower pots in the yard where she occasionally "buries" socks, toys, and other contraband...all to no avail. My flower was just plain missing. And then Bailey ran up the stairs to bark out of the half window and she jumped in my lap...yep, you guessed it, with my flower in her mouth. Let's just say it got a little distressed. Looks like I'll be making another rose.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
I wanted to share a little green with y'all, and no, it's not cash. Sorry. We all could use a little extra, I'm sure;) My bit 'o green is a clean and simple St. Patty's Day card. I thought I'd get my crafty mojo going with a challenge. It's based on a sketch from <a href="http://retrosketches.blogspot.com/2013/03/retrosketches-54.html" target="_blank">Retrosketches #54</a>. <br />

</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
For this card, I used an 8.5x3.75 card base. The shamrock stamp is from the $1 bin at Joann's. The pattern paper is from the Print Poetry mini deck from Stampin Up. The ribbon is also Stampin Up and the hue is Gumball Green. The sentiment is from Justrite Stamps and was stamped in SU Gumball Green ink. The mini pearl is from my stash.</div>

It's time to get your scrap on and enter the Link Up For Pink Challenge #10. There is an inspiration photo to help you get started. I can't wait to see all the creative things y'all come up with.<br />
<br />
Here the photo:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
And here's my take on it...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhBl83FkLVUaepeCnTBUjhSMckm5i2ZiqPnZAm0UxNtYZlx9ytGgLbE_CfGu0N0lYm3s7i-DYInc13giziizghyDbhPAxqKTTLekWWlyOcBjl6VGm0bNE5flvLg-DrvB9UhK5MiFfMg9cs/s1600/IMG_0939.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhBl83FkLVUaepeCnTBUjhSMckm5i2ZiqPnZAm0UxNtYZlx9ytGgLbE_CfGu0N0lYm3s7i-DYInc13giziizghyDbhPAxqKTTLekWWlyOcBjl6VGm0bNE5flvLg-DrvB9UhK5MiFfMg9cs/s400/IMG_0939.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>

</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The flowers in the comforter and the color on the walls are what inspired me. I was messing around during a recent scrapbook retreat and learned how to make these little roses using two Tim Holtz Sizzix dies, Tattered Florals and Tattered Pincone. The pinecone is the rolled center and the medium size flower from the Tattered Florals is two layers on the bottom. The paper I used is from Echo Park, Hello Summer by Lori Whitlock. To make the leaves, I used a McGill punch. The chevron borders were cut out using the Zing and Make the Cut. The cute little tickets are "That's the Ticket" from Stampin Up as well as the coordinating ticket punch.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
To me, this card represents something we should all look forward to, the future. Whether it's fighting a nasty disease, going through financial difficulties, losing a loved one, or getting a divorce, we all need to remember that God is with us and will give us the strength we need to come out on the other side; we just need to be patient. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I hope you enjoyed your visit. Until next time, Scrap Sassy!</div>

<br />
It was definitely time to get a Valentine's Day card made, so I decided to share a little love with my friends over at <a href="http://www.linkupforpink.com/" target="_blank">Link Up For Pink</a>.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
This is just a simple, flowery, blingy little card. I used Carta Bella's Paris Girl paper collection. My flower is several different mulberry flowers from Prima and Michael's with a little Tattered Angels Marshmallow spritzed on top for fun, although it's a bit hard to see. The bling is actually cut from a long border strip. The seam binding is from <a href="http://www.reasonableribbon.com/" target="_blank">Really Reasonable Ribbon</a>.<br />
<br />

<br />
I'm here today to share another <a href="http://www.linkupforpink.com/2013/01/challenge-no-9-dt-call_24.html" target="_blank">Link Up For Pink Challenge 9</a> creation. It's not too late to get in on the fun and win an awesome prize! Also, there's room on the LUFP Design Team for some new members, so if you want to have a LOT of fun with a great bunch of crafters, be sure to submit your creations.<br />
<br />
For this card, I used the <a href="http://www.stephaniebarnardstamps.com/index.htm" target="_blank">Stamps of Life</a> Turtle2Love stamp set. The turtles are so darn cute. I used the stamp to cut out and paper piece patterned paper to create two cute little turtles for my card. (They kinda look like they're giving each other a smooch.) The patterned paper is from the Cosmo Cricket Mini Deck, Salt Air. It's been so cold, rainy, and altogether icky here in Alabama, I thought a bit of "beachy keen" would make us all feel a little happier.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiDXpiBF4-5PXXG5QvNO73N5qAdp3OwLaquA0U3c3oiVUALbdOvgvYAi1PWeYikgaKiNxbfEG6hMkxr9UQ3pYvbUsmEgr_6bQCJAdHX-nDk4N3Uw3bruAh5IINkl42ZG3ZdyhnVJXlWjQI/s1600/Shellibrate.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiDXpiBF4-5PXXG5QvNO73N5qAdp3OwLaquA0U3c3oiVUALbdOvgvYAi1PWeYikgaKiNxbfEG6hMkxr9UQ3pYvbUsmEgr_6bQCJAdHX-nDk4N3Uw3bruAh5IINkl42ZG3ZdyhnVJXlWjQI/s400/Shellibrate.JPG" width="308" /></a></div>
<br />
The pattern paper is so bright and busy, I didn't think it needed a whole lot of embellishing, just a really cute, clean and simple card. The layout is based on <a href="http://mojomonday.blogspot.com/2013/01/mojo-monday-277.html" target="_blank">Mojo Monday Sketch #277</a>. I love playing along with the Mojo Monday challenges too!<br />
<br />
I hope you enjoyed your visit. <br />
It's an exciting day here. It's my debut on the Link Up For Pink Design Team. For Challenge 9, there is a photo inspiration as well as stamps from our awesome sponsor, <a href="http://www.stampsoflife.com/" target="_blank">The Stamps Of Life</a>.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjbvK_mYOT_lEo18hmnJv3RnZr1bPHp90UmB76sr12GFXHy-iNdFa_-zCaDXtx2ZeWV2HDnwPlXYgbnU6lII6GbKdaLCvnEGrQApBKOSYsfwm8VJXEEn86y-j_brSjM8SpakEPb6rlBohk/s1600/Stamps+of+Life+logo.gif" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjbvK_mYOT_lEo18hmnJv3RnZr1bPHp90UmB76sr12GFXHy-iNdFa_-zCaDXtx2ZeWV2HDnwPlXYgbnU6lII6GbKdaLCvnEGrQApBKOSYsfwm8VJXEEn86y-j_brSjM8SpakEPb6rlBohk/s1600/Stamps+of+Life+logo.gif" /></a></div>
<br />
Here is the inspiration photo to use in this challenge:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi9ibXgkZk-C5F7bObL9NcbHpswJGQcOYCPBE1w_BALQKMyANaWTqNdU0EXtRzsoUUXhYfbBF6Z_2cjLknGjN4qX4r_S425EHrjkLaE4gwmeSQQRlIIcGi8tWA2LJhmSE5ktXEAjzxKySg/s1600/photo.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi9ibXgkZk-C5F7bObL9NcbHpswJGQcOYCPBE1w_BALQKMyANaWTqNdU0EXtRzsoUUXhYfbBF6Z_2cjLknGjN4qX4r_S425EHrjkLaE4gwmeSQQRlIIcGi8tWA2LJhmSE5ktXEAjzxKySg/s320/photo.JPG" width="237" /></a></div>
<br />
And here's my vision...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi7ApS1gT9tE7QKtXPue1b0YUJHd9sN9g34oeOJHINuMVYpmMg6G1pWveb51y-1ABIy7j9itLzOzr0ePrxnDg2obvt43m7gs7cJMxDD5-QPs7LfcDB4R9lucT8-_bQmhcdo36w1efyNQQk/s1600/Strengthens+Me+001.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="296" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi7ApS1gT9tE7QKtXPue1b0YUJHd9sN9g34oeOJHINuMVYpmMg6G1pWveb51y-1ABIy7j9itLzOzr0ePrxnDg2obvt43m7gs7cJMxDD5-QPs7LfcDB4R9lucT8-_bQmhcdo36w1efyNQQk/s400/Strengthens+Me+001.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
For the card above, I used a pre-made ivory card base. The size is approximately 5x6.5. The patterned paper is from Mind Mind's Eye, The Sweetest Thing - Honey Collection. It's such awesome shabby goodness! I used Primrose Petals cardstock from Stampin Up and a cute flowery border punch from EK Success. I also used Primrose Petals, Summer Starfruit, and Basic Black inks. The seam binding is also Stampin Up. The flowers are from Michael's. I stamped Philippians 4:13 - I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me - in Basic Black ink on vellum. The stamp is from one of the many awesome sets from our friends over at<a href="http://www.stampsoflife.com/" target="_blank"> Stamps of Life</a>.<br />
<br />
Now here's the good part...<br />
Would you like a Stamps of Life 4x6 stamp set of your very own? All you have to do is play along with us during Challenge 9. Create something crafty using the inspiration photo above, then hop over to the <a href="http://www.linkupforpink.com/" target="_blank">Link Up For Pink</a> Blog and link up! I look forward to seeing everyone's creations.<br />
<br />
And for those who are still fighting the battle against breast cancer, our hearts and prayers are with each and every one of you!<br />

<br />
I have some wonderful news that I just couldn't wait any longer to share. I'm a member of the Link Up For Pink Design Team. This is truly a labor of love. This group does such good work not only getting the word out about breast cancer, but making sure those who are fighting the battle have inspiration, encouragement, and prayers. The LUFP ladies totally rock and I'm so excited to be a part of<a href="http://www.linkupforpink.com/" target="_blank"> Link Up For Pink</a>!<br />
<br />
Be sure to check back tomorrow...<br />
Challenge 9 goes live and so does my FIRST project.<br />
<br />
Until tomorrow, Scrap Sassy!Sassy Scrapperhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18432009499241393999noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6894276652764244611.post-41633304807164237462012-10-05T07:00:00.000-05:002012-10-05T07:00:12.547-05:00Happy Birthday, Mona!Welcome to the Studio!<br />
<br />
I just re-connected with some family I haven't seen in a really long time. I didn't even know it, but my cousin Mona's birthday is the day before mine. Since we haven't been in contact for so long, I wanted to make a special and cutesy card for her. Even though it will be a few weeks late, it is being hand-delivered when my mom and I go down to Louisiana to visit next week. We'll be having "Thanksgiving early" because we all have so much to be thankful for this year!<br />
<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This card was based on Mojo Monday Sketch 260. It's just so stinkin' cute...both the sketch and the card!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<br />
I used a BoBunny 6x6 paper pack that's been sitting in the bin screaming, "Use Me! I'm Pretty!" The cardstock and ink is from Close to my Heart as well as the mini rhinestones.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
Happy Birthday, Mona! Love and Miss You!</div>

<br />
I want to invite each and every one of you to visit the <a href="http://www.linkupforpink.com/" target="_blank">Link Up For Pink</a> website. Not only visit, but join the linking party and post a card or project. The only catch...it must be pink, of course. Also, there's tons of awesome prizes to win, but that isn't the best part. Let's all work together and find a cure for Breast Cancer!<br />
<br />
My mom, Joanie, of <a href="http://www.classycardcorner.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">Joanie's Classy Card Corner</a>, is a DT member over at Link Up For Pink. My mom is a cardmaking dynamo! She's amazing and is giving away blog candy, so stop over and leave her some love. She has been asking me to make a "pink card" for several months now. I've been wracking my brain trying to come up with a good idea and it finally hit me...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjS_JKhXjPom_M-tsNSup6asshCgLs4l-s-MICQ5BXsN55bHOaQ2xduKlUAJmeGxw65lAdCcrd0vQqagwqeQE14NiIp2ziWaL3U_jJhGQ0kidZqX6gnRFkrIcXMoJ_NQ216ZToQuNZmvnY/s1600/IMG_3144.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjS_JKhXjPom_M-tsNSup6asshCgLs4l-s-MICQ5BXsN55bHOaQ2xduKlUAJmeGxw65lAdCcrd0vQqagwqeQE14NiIp2ziWaL3U_jJhGQ0kidZqX6gnRFkrIcXMoJ_NQ216ZToQuNZmvnY/s400/IMG_3144.JPG" width="297" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
So while I was sipping a cup of tea (no kidding) at my scrap desk, I found some lovely pink paper. It's definitely a "stash" item. I purchased two packs of this Making Memories paper on clearance at Target, like five years ago. The stamps, die, and embossing folder are all new...well, at least newer than the paper. I've been itching to use this teacup stamp set since I got it and everything just came together perfectly.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I fussy-cut the teacup after I stamped it and used a real coffee filter to make my teabag so it would look and feel authentic;) Here is a closeup of my teabag and tag...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiFFXTjgM5Ix0FtvV-hzGosphkrKfj36wCG_aISxpaxY0GC0XUY0T7xwb9LjGXI0ZlcKwY3UbPqL0X0I6dsK7hjuqFEAVCG-D-AQifPQCGbaeY8yhv-BgL8vV7BKiDa3yZ9U4JQHj86LsU/s1600/IMG_3142.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiFFXTjgM5Ix0FtvV-hzGosphkrKfj36wCG_aISxpaxY0GC0XUY0T7xwb9LjGXI0ZlcKwY3UbPqL0X0I6dsK7hjuqFEAVCG-D-AQifPQCGbaeY8yhv-BgL8vV7BKiDa3yZ9U4JQHj86LsU/s400/IMG_3142.JPG" width="363" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I wanted to make a breast cancer card for someone who is fighting the battle and encourage them not to give up. I'm extremely fortunate that I'm making this card for someone I don't even know. It will be given to our friend, Meg, who volunteers at our local cancer center. For any of you who have been touched by this disease, my prayers are with you!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The quote on the inside of the card is by Eleanor Roosevelt and reads, "A woman is like a teabag...You never know how strong it is until it's in hot water."</div>
