Mother's Day...It's Right Around The Corner!

Hello Everyone! I hope you all had a joyous Easter.

For us cardmakers, Mother's Day is fast on our heels and we've got to get inspired. After the Explosion Box Card I made Mom for her birthday, I've really got my work cut out for me. How am I going to top that? You'll see the answer to that question in a week or so;) But to get us started, here are some Mother's Day cards I made...

This was a card project that was part of a Mother's Day Brunch at church. All the pieces were precut and all you needed was a little glue and it was finished. I used the CTMH Veranda paper pack. It's hard to see in the picture, but there is a matching butterfly design stippled on the front of the card. I cut a butterfly out of vinyl and stuck it to the paper and using a stipple brush and an ink pad, I inked all around (and on top of) the vinyl mask. When I had enough ink, I just gently pulled the vinyl up. You can reuse the vinyl cutout several times and can store it for later projects by re-applying it to its backing sheet.

The Butterfly diecut is from Quickutz. The "with love" is an embossing folder from Cuttlebug and the paper has been sanded. There is a magnet closure under this tab. The magnets are from Basic Grey. The border punch was Stampin' Up. The "To Mom" tag I printed on my computer. The font is "Fling" and can be downloaded free at http://www.dafont.com/

These two Mom card I made for a friend at church. Believe it or not, the paper I used was really old stuff. It's either MAMBI or BoBunny that I bought several years ago when a local scrapbook store was closing. I bought A LOT of this paper. It's really pretty and works great for a shabby chic card. I used MTC/Make The Cut and my Expression. The shapes are from Penny Duncan Creations and they are FREE! {You can go to her site and download the shapes in multiple formats. Just click on her blog badge on the righthand side.} The smaller shape in the center is one of the artisan shapes from the Silhouette store. For the card on the left, I used crocheted lace and grosgrain ribbon at the top. On the right, I used a Martha Stewart punch and organza ribbon. Both cards were embellished with pearls and small prima roses.



This is my attempt at making an easel card. It only looks hard:) I made for a lady to give her daughter for Mother's Day. The daughter has three children. The "3" theme is repeated with pearls and the butterflies on the card. I used the CTMH Miracle paper pack. I embellished with stitching, pearls, and a Recollections flower from Michaels. (Can you say Clearance?)
